The untitled project would be a unique African jungle adventure, with Mahesh Babu playing an explorer embodying the characteristics of Lord Hanuman. Now, we have learned that SS Rajamouli is set to begin shooting this highly anticipated film in April 2025, marking his next big venture after Baahubali and RRR. What's more, Priyanka Chopra has been confirmed as the female lead, joining Mahesh Babu on this grand journey.
Sources close to the development have confirmed that Priyanka Chopra is making her return to the Indian film industry with Rajamouli's Pan-World Jungle Adventure. “The film is in its final stages of writing and is set to go on floors in April 2025. SS Rajamouli wanted a female lead with a global presence, and Priyanka was the perfect choice. Over the past six months, Rajamouli has had multiple meetings with Priyanka, and the timing and energies have perfectly aligned,” the source shared.
This untitled project will mark Priyanka Chopra’s return to Indian cinema after a six-year absence, following her last appearance in The Sky Is Pink. "Priyanka is thrilled to collaborate with a visionary director like SS Rajamouli and team up with Mahesh Babu on this adventurous venture. The role offers her ample scope for action, and she’s excited to explore this new territory alongside Mahesh. The character is well-crafted, and Priyanka has already begun her preparations for the role,” the source added.
The film is expected to be shot through the end of 2026, with a theatrical release slated for 2027. Rajamouli is reportedly in talks with global studios for the project, with negotiations ongoing with Disney and Sony for the past year. Filming will take place in both India and the US, as well as the African jungles.
